Bravuogn
Bravougn, or Bergun as it is called in German, is a little village in eastern Switzerland, and each of the last three years we've come here with 140 friends for skiing and sledding and fun. This train goes up to Preda, a village way above Bergun, from where you take these sleds and run back down to town - about 5 km! It is lit up all evening and so you can go from 9 AM until 11 PM, taking this train up every hour and sledding back down. The train corkscrews upwards through several spiral tunnels. Last night Jackie and I took the last train up the mountain - 11 PM, then waited for the entire train load of sledders to leave, allowing us to run down in solitude. We stopped at a particularly dark point on the run down, and marvelled at Orion and other such starry fellows, looming up over the silhouettes of Alpine peaks around us. It reminded us of the greatness of God, and how He displays Himself through the works of His hands!
I was first here for Christmas '77 - hard to believe. I'd never have thought that someday I'd be coming back here with my kids! These are Tim and Chris. Jayne is here with us too, as is Jackie. Jackie has had great fun learning to ski this week.
